When bestselling author LIU Cixin’s “The Three-Body Problem” was published for the first time, Baoshu was still an oversea’s student. He read LIU Cixin’s renowned work non-stop and wrote a sequel within only three weeks. As unlikely as it seemed at that time, his work was not only well received by the Chinese science fiction audience, but also by LIU Cixin himself. Instead of merely contributing a fan fiction sequel, Baoshu received publishing contracts and turned into a successful science fiction author in his own right in the following years, creating such works as “Ruins of Time”, “Garuda” etc.
Confucius Institute Frankfurt is delighted to announce a public discussion with Baoshu about his work and Chinese science fiction with professor for Chinese literature Zhiyi Yang and in cooperation with Confucius Institute Heidelberg!
