China is experiencing serious environmental problem after the 30 years rapid economic growth since 1978, which means China has to transfer to the green development in the near future. The lecture will discuss the topics including factors behind the environmental problem during the last 30 years economic growth, the current connection between environment and economy in China, the possible solutions for fixing the problem and how to achieve new balance between the environmental and non-environmental sector.

Since 2005 LI Zhiqing 李志青 is assistant professor of Economics at the School of Economics, Fudan University. He is also deputy director of the Center for Environmental Economic Studies and has been visiting scholar to the University of California, San Diego, Yale University and Konstanz University. In his research LI Zhiqing focuses on environmental & energy economics, public economics, political economics, economics of climate change, international climate policy and China’s modern economy.
